Psalm 19
1 The heavens proclaim the glory of God.
The skies display his craftsmanship.
2 Day after day they continue to speak;
night after night they make him known.
3 They speak without a sound or word;
their voice is never heard.[a]
4 Yet their message has gone throughout the earth,
and their words to all the world.
God has made a home in the heavens for the sun.
5 It bursts forth like a radiant bridegroom after his wedding.
It rejoices like a great athlete eager to run the race.
6 The sun rises at one end of the heavens
and follows its course to the other end.
Nothing can hide from its heat.
7 The instructions of the Lord are perfect,
reviving the soul.
The decrees of the Lord are trustworthy,
making wise the simple.
8 The commandments of the Lord are right,
bringing joy to the heart.
The commands of the Lord are clear,
giving insight for living.
9 Reverence for the Lord is pure,
lasting forever.
The laws of the Lord are true;
each one is fair.
10 They are more desirable than gold,
even the finest gold.
They are sweeter than honey,
even honey dripping from the comb.
11 They are a warning to your servant,
a great reward for those who obey them.
Last night I watched the movie "The Priveleged Planet" for the second time this week. It's so amazing to see the galaxies and how small the earth is in comparison to the vastness of the whole universe. We are this little blue marble floating there, yet God created all of it just for us. So that when we see it we would see Him. So many factors need to be in place for us to exist and if any one of those factors were even the slightest bit different our planet could not support life that is able to think or reason like only us humans are able to do. So if God created the universe for us and put us in the best place in our galaxy to observe maybe our purpose here is to observe Him. If you truly seek Him, you will find Him. He has made Himself discoverable.
I also came across this debate between Matt Slick, founder of Christian Apologetics & Research, and Eddie Tabash, Lawyer and Atheist. http://carm.org/debate-matt-slick-eddie-tabash-does-god-exist. The actual video of their debate is quite long but very interesting. Both raise great questions. If you have the time to watch it I highly recommend it.
CARM.org is a great resource for Christian apologetics. I don't think we have any excuse to not equip ourselves with the sword of the spirit, which is the word of God.
I have a renewed desire to read His word and am encouraged to just behold Him through all experiences in my life.
